This red fawn dog impressed me from the moment he entered the ring. Reminds me a good deal of a dog I owned in the early 1980's. This dog has incredible ring presence and then some. He fits the breed standard in every respect. An ideal balance of Bull and Terrier. Terrific correct head. Deep through skull, with parallel planes, short muzzle and strong underjaw. Dark round eyes giving him an almost unequalled expression on the day. Strong scissor bite made up of large, strong teeth. Beautiful rose ears. Strong, thick neck - muscular and short, which flowed ideally into well laid shoulders. Wide front, with strong, straight legs. Terrific substance without heaviness. Wonderful depth of brisket. Good feet. Shown in excellent condition, he possessed a beautiful short, clean coat. Large correct nostrils essential for proper breathing. Powerful hams with strong second thighs which propelled him across the ring with drive and ease. He looks hard and determined, a mind with purpose and energy. Correct tailset, short hocks and good angulation. Having judged Staffords in five countries, I say without hesitation that this is one of the best dogs I have seen anywhere in the world. A winner in any country, he is an asset to the breed and a credit to his breeders/owners. Having owned the Top Stafford in the UK in 1974, and having seen most of the top UK Staffords since then, I believe this dog to be better than most of them - maybe all of them. A pleasure to award him Best In Show today.
